Tessmer Law Firm is an award-winning family law firm located in San Antonio, Texas (78229), in the prestigious Northwest Center Building at the intersection of Loop 410 and I‑10. Led by Heather Tessmer, our experienced legal team is dedicated to providing tough but fair, collaborative, and efficient legal services throughout San Antonio, Boerne, and the greater Central Texas area.

We are currently seeking a professional, organized, and client-focused Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our firm. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors while supporting daily office operations, managing front-desk communications, and assisting with administrative processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to manage a multi-line phone system efficiently, and comfortable handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal office.

Position Overview

The Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day front office operations and delivering excellent service to clients, prospective clients, and team members. This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage incoming calls, scheduling, client intake support, office organization, and administrative tasks with professionalism and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet clients, visitors, and prospective clients professionally and maintain a welcoming front-desk presence.
  • Manage a multi-line phone system, including answering, screening, transferring calls, taking messages, and supporting intake call preparation.
  • Coordinate calendars, appointments, reschedules, and cancellations as needed.
  • Handle incoming emails, faxes, mail, and scanned documents, and route information to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintain organized electronic files, including scanning, labeling, filing, and updating internal tracking systems.
  • Monitor and order office supplies, beverages, snacks, and other requested items to keep the office stocked and operational.
  • Assist with general office upkeep, including conference room readiness, kitchen and reception area maintenance, and other front office support tasks.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and staff as needed while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of receptionist, front desk, administrative support, or related office experience required.
  • Experience in handling a multi-line phone system is required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, calendar management, and general office technology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent client service.
